Privacy policy

WFH movement (WFHM) and SFH Movement (SFHM) are duty-bound to protect your integrity. This document describes what information WFHM and SFHM (collectively "the apps" ) collects via its apps and how it uses the information collected. This privacy policy applies to the apps and both WFHM's and SFHM's website.

The apps are part of a research project conducted by researchers at the department of Applied IT at University of Gothenburg. The purpose of the project is to investigate how local restrictions due to a pandemic impact people’s physical movement. The uploaded data is used 1) to visualise user data in the app, and 2) for the researchers to analyse how the physical movement of different groups in society have been impacted by restrictions.

Data collection

The term ‘personal data’ refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. The apps treats all personal data according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The apps collects demographic data collected through a form, and activity data (tracked steps) gathered from a source selected by the user. The apps collects this data in the following scenarios:

  • When you, as a user, through the apps choose to provide information about yourself.

  • When you, as a user, choose to sync your steps data from a selected source with the app.

The app generates a unique identifier each time the app is installed, that is used to associate the installed app with the data uploaded to our servers.

All data is stored securely on servers within the European Union (EU) and not shared with third parties.

You can request to delete your data from within the app as long as it is installed on your device. You may also request a copy of your data by emailing sebastian.andreasson@ait.gu.se together with a unique identifier found on the settings screen of the app (24 characters). When you uninstall the app, this identifier is lost and we can no longer identify you in the dataset and it can therefore not be requested nor deleted.

The lawful basis for processing the data is that of consent.

You are welcome to contact us about the personal data that the apps holds about you (sebastian.andreasson@ait.gu.se).

The personal data controller is University of Gothenburg. Contact to the data protection officer is dataskydd@gu.se, or phone +46-31-786 00 00.
