Privacy policy

We are duty-bound to protect your integrity. This document describes what information Screentime collects via the app and how it uses the information collected. This privacy policy applies to the app.

The app is part of a research project conducted by researchers at Sahlgrenska together with the department of Applied IT at University of Gothenburg. The purpose of the study is to see how screen time affects sleep.

Data collection

The term ‘personal data’ refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. The apps treats all personal data according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The apps collects demographic data collected through a form, and screen time ( number of seconds of active usage, no detailed information about apps ) data gathered from the phone. The apps collects this data in the following scenarios:

  • When you, as a user, through the app answer the daily questionnaire.

  • (Android only) When you, as a user, choose to give access to your screen time data. And after giving this access screentime data is automatically synced.

  • (iOS only) When you, as a user uploads selected screenshots of your screen time.

All data is stored securely on servers within the European Union (EU) and not shared with third parties.

You can request to delete your data from within the app as long as it is installed on your device. You may also request a copy of your data by emailing sebastian.andreasson@ait.gu.se together with a unique identifier found on the settings screen of the app.

The lawful basis for processing the data is that of consent.
